29th September 2017: Phil Carradice and “History Like the Teacher Never Taught You”
How can I contact the Society re my families time in Tongwynlais and Taffs Well? I have information and photos but need help to find the Welsh lineage of my family. The Edwards and Evans families of Tongwynlais are understandably difficult to trace because of the commonality of their names.. Also my grandfather, William Kreutzer from Liverrpool ,had dealings with Colonel Lewis of Greenmeadow, but I can’t find much information about Colonel Lewis and Greenmeadow. My father was born in Tongwynlais and during WW1 at aged 7 was an army mascot for the Australian Army which his father had joined in 1914 when he was in Sydney as a sailor. My father held exhibition bouts of ‘David and Goliath’ with a large boxer and they did it to raise money for the war effort. I have photos of this.if there is any help you can give me i would appreciate it. Also if you are interested in their story I have quite a deal of information.
I will forward your message to Don Llewellyn to see if he can help
Can you email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is a full write up of the Lewis family and Greenmeadow in our June 2010 edition of The Garth Domain and it is still available, cost depending on where she lives
