Programme of meetings
We meet eight times a year, generally on the last Friday of the month (not December, January, July and August). All meetings are held in Pentyrch Village Hall, at 7.30pm.
23rd February 2018: Abdul Seckam will be talking about Honey In Medicine through the Ages.
30th March 2018: Huw Williams, The History Of Merthyr Tudful. In 1750 Merthyr was a quiet village but by 1801 its population was 8000, almost twice as much as Cardiff. By 1861 it was 52,000 with Cardiff growing also with exports of iron and coal.
27th April 2018: AGM followed by a celebration to mark 25 years of Pentyrch and District Local History Society at the Lewis Arms.
25th May 2018: Rosemary Scadden, On The Edge. A history of the coast from Chepstow to Nash Point.
The annual membership fee is £7.50, payable on 1 April each year. Please feel free to join us at any one of our meetings.
